Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited (TRE) is a leading player in India’s rail and infrastructure sector, specializing in the design, manufacture, and supply of railway wagons, coaches, and Electric Multiple Units (EMUs). In the rolling stock division, Texmaco produces high-capacity freight wagons, specialized coaches, and metro cars, with exports to Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Its railway infrastructure segment focuses on large-scale projects like dedicated freight corridors (DFCs), new railway lines, and metro expansions under the National Rail Plan. Additionally, the heavy steel fabrication unit supplies critical components for power plants, ports, and industrial projects, working with major PSUs like NTPC and BHEL.

Texmaco benefits from strong government support, with the Indian Railways’ increased budgetary allocation (₹2.55 lakh crore in FY25) and initiatives like PM Gati Shakti driving demand. The company currently holds a robust order book of over ₹4,000 crores, ensuring steady revenue visibility. Despite its strong fundamentals, the stock has corrected significantly from its 52-week high of ₹297 and is now trading around ₹140, presenting a potential buying opportunity.

The company has demonstrated consistent financial performance, as reflected in its quarterly results:

  • December 2024: Net Sales of ₹1,085.88 Crores | Net Profit of ₹47.02 Crores
  • September 2024: Net Sales of ₹1,116.29 Crores | Net Profit of ₹48.45 Crores
  • June 2024: Net Sales of ₹891.65 Crores | Net Profit of ₹40.25 Crores
  • March 2024: Net Sales of ₹1,144.56 Crores | Net Profit of ₹46.99 Crores

These figures highlight Texmaco’s ability to maintain steady revenue streams, with sales consistently above ₹890 Crores per quarter and profitability remaining stable. The slight dip in June 2024 was followed by a recovery, indicating resilience in operations.

Given the favorable industry outlook and Texmaco’s diversified business model, the stock could see an upside of 15-20% in the short to medium term.

Investors may consider accumulating the stock at current levels.
